This finely crushed material uniformly discharged at the periphery of the rotating disc, where, as desired, 5, 10, or 15% of the circumferential discharge is caught and passed by gravity through the independent small “Sample” spout, the balance, or surplus material, passing by gravity through the larger inclined spout.
It will be noted that the sample is not taken directly after the rough crushing operation and then further reduced. It is not extracted until the coal and impurities are finely disintegrated and then roughly mixed, thus assuring a true sample.
General
The 5, 10, or 15% sample spouts may be easily and quickly changed one for another from the outside of the machine and may be attached to either the right or left hand side of the machine.
It takes up small floor space.
The drive shaft is mounted in anti-friction bearings.
The hopper is a convenient height for hand feeding when this method is to be used.
